Consider iTunes your iPod's best friend. After you, of course.
Made for each other
iPod and iTunes give you a seamless experience, from download to sync. Shop for music, movies, games, TV shows, and audiobooks on the built-in iTunes Store, download free podcasts, or import songs from your CDs. Then connect iPod to your Mac or PC, and iTunes gets to work. You don't have to press a button. iTunes updates everything you've added since your last sync — every song, every movie, every TV episode.
Loading dock
Leave an optional iPod Universal Dock connected to your Mac or PC. Then, when you're ready to charge or sync, simply dock your iPod. Or connect the dock to a stereo system, some speakers, or a TV via an optional iPod AV Cable. And since the dock works with the Apple Remote (sold separately), you can control your music, photo slideshows, movies, and TV shows from afar.
Sync and say “cheese”
Add photos to iPhoto on a Mac or Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Album on a Windows PC. Update your Address Book and iCal on the Mac or Outlook or Outlook Express on the PC. Then connect iPod to your Mac or PC via USB and all your stuff syncs in a cinch — as your iPod charges.
